How your lookups work
Everything you need to know about your monthly allowance, rollover, top-ups, and plan changes.
Simple, transparent usage. Every plan includes a monthly lookup allowance. Unused lookups roll over automatically. Top-ups never expire. Here is exactly how it all works.
The basics
What counts as a lookup
Each search you perform counts as one lookup, whether it's a phone number, website URL, text message, email, document, or QR code. If a text, email, or document contains embedded URLs or phone numbers, those sub-checks are included at no extra cost. Re-checking the same item within the cache window (typically 24-48 hours) is free.
Unused lookups roll over
Didn't use all your lookups this month? They roll over to next month automatically. Rollover is capped at 2x your monthly plan limit to prevent unlimited accumulation. For example, a Starter user (50/month) can have up to 100 rollover lookups. A Pro user (200/month) can have up to 400. Free accounts do not get rollover.
Top-ups never expire
Top-up packs are one-time purchases that add lookups to your account. They never expire, carry forward across billing periods, and are always consumed last (after monthly and rollover). They are unaffected by plan changes, upgrades, or downgrades.
Consumption order
When you perform a lookup, your monthly allowance is consumed first. Once that's used up, rollover lookups are consumed. Top-ups are consumed only after both monthly and rollover are exhausted. This order ensures your top-ups last as long as possible.
Examples and scenarios
Monthly rollover in action
You're on the Pro plan (200 lookups/month).
You use 120 lookups. 80 unused lookups roll over.
You start with 200 + 80 rollover = 280 available. You use 50. 150 unused + 80 existing rollover = 230, but capped at 400 (2x Pro limit). Rollover = 230.
You start with 200 + 230 rollover = 430 available.
Note: Rollover accumulates month over month until it reaches the 2x cap. Once at cap, new unused lookups don't add more rollover.
Upgrading from Starter to Pro
You're on Starter (50/month) with 30 rollover lookups and 10 top-up lookups.
Your plan changes to Pro immediately. You now have 200 monthly lookups.
Your 30 rollover lookups carry forward. The new rollover cap is 400 (2x Pro), so nothing is lost.
Your 10 top-up lookups are completely unaffected.
You pay a prorated charge for the remainder of the current billing period.
Note: Upgrades always preserve your existing lookups. You never lose rollover or top-ups when upgrading.
Downgrading from Pro to Starter
You're on Pro (200/month) with 350 rollover lookups and 25 top-up lookups.
You keep full Pro access until the end of your billing period. Nothing changes yet.
Your plan switches to Starter (50/month). Rollover cap drops to 100 (2x Starter).
Your 350 rollover is reduced to 100 (the new cap). 250 lookups are lost.
Your 25 top-up lookups are completely unaffected.
Note: Plan your downgrade carefully. Use your rollover lookups before the change takes effect to avoid losing them.
Top-up consumption order
You have 50 monthly lookups, 20 rollover, and 15 top-up lookups (85 total).
Consumed from your monthly allowance.
Consumed from your rollover balance.
Consumed from your top-up balance.
Note: Top-ups are always consumed last. This means they're preserved as long as possible and carry forward even if your monthly and rollover are fully used.
